Cotoneaster procumbens 'Streib's Findling' is an evergreen much valued for its beauty and longevity, with creeping stems that give it a carpeting habit.

Characteristics
The leaves are small, oval and glossy dark green. In spring the plant produces white to pink flowers that attract pollinating insects, followed by small red berries that persist into winter.

Growing and care
Very versatile and suited to different soils provided they are well drained, it is ideal as ground cover thanks to its ability to form a thick carpet that smothers weeds. It prefers a partially shaded to sunny position, tolerates drought once established and is fully hardy. Trim the edges to keep it within bounds.

Uses
Ground cover on banks, under shrubs, over walls and steps, in low maintenance public planting and in containers.
