Cedrus deod. 'Pendula'

Cedrus deodara 'Pendula' is a Himalayan cedar with a distinctive weeping habit.

Characteristics
A slow growing tree with an elegant, weeping outline, slimmer and more graceful than the standard species, its branches bending downwards and outwards. The needles are borne in tufts, bright green, about 3-5 cm long. It produces ornamental light brown to grey cones that decorate the plant all year, cylindrical and some 10-15 cm long.

Growing and care
A sunny position and deep, well drained soil; hardy and drought tolerant once established, it dislikes waterlogging. Stake and train the leader to the height wanted, then let the branches fall; prune only to remove damaged wood.

Uses
A specimen plant for lawns, slopes, large rock gardens and contemporary schemes, also striking cascading over a wall or bank.
