Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Heavenly Blue' is a compact perennial shrub of Asian origin that brings elegance and colour to the garden. Its grey-green, downy leaves make a perfect background for flowers of a wonderful deep blue.

Characteristics
A rounded, compact shrub flowering from July to September, when the blue flower clusters attract butterflies and bees and help support pollinators in the garden; the aromatic foliage is pleasantly scented when brushed.

Growing and care
Renowned for its toughness and ease: it prefers a sunny or lightly shaded position and thrives in well drained soil, tolerating drought and lime. As it flowers on the current year's growth, cut it back hard to 20-30 cm in late winter for the best display.

Uses
Mixed and gravel borders, low informal hedges, wildlife gardens and containers; excellent with grasses and silver leaved plants.
