Campsis radicans nana is a compact form of trumpet vine, a climber of the Bignoniaceae family native to North America.

Characteristics
A deciduous climber with pinnate foliage and trumpet shaped flowers of an intense orange-red, carried through summer and much loved by bees and hummingbird hawk moths. This dwarf form is hardy to low temperatures and grows to about 3 m, far less vigorous than the type.

Growing and care
Easy to grow and adaptable to most climates and soils, best in a sunny position though it tolerates partial shade. Give it room to spread and provide a support or framework in the first years; it clings with aerial roots. Prune hard in late winter, shortening the previous year's growth, to keep it tidy and flowering well.

Uses
Pergolas, arches, fences, railings and walls, and large containers where the compact habit keeps it manageable.
