Buxus microphylla 'Faulkner' is an ornamental box valued for its dense, compact foliage and upright habit.

Characteristics
A medium sized evergreen shrub reaching about 60-120 cm in height and width, compact and dense, with upright, well branched stems forming a full, rounded head. The leaves are small, oval and leathery, glossy dark green, arranged in opposite pairs and attractive all year round, giving the plant a neat, formal look. The small greenish yellow spring flowers are inconspicuous.

Growing and care
Sun or partial shade and fresh, well drained soil; hardy and long lived, and this selection is more resistant to box blight than common box. Clip once or twice in the growing season to keep the shape, and mulch to keep the roots cool.

Uses
Low formal hedges, edging, parterres, topiary, foundation planting and containers.
