Cotoneaster floccosus is an evergreen shrub from the mountains of Asia. Its compact growth and abundant flowering make it a strongly decorative element in the garden, and its qualities do not stop there.

Characteristics
The leaves are small and oval, a fine dark green, held all year, with white and pink flowers in clusters appearing in spring, and long lasting red berries in autumn that feed birds through winter; the stems are elegantly arching.

Growing and care
Thanks to its dense growth and branching structure it is easy to keep in shape. Sun or partial shade and any well drained soil suit it; it is hardy, drought tolerant and tolerant of urban conditions. Prune after fruiting or in late winter.

Uses
Its density makes it suitable for decorative hedges, giving excellent cover and a good appearance in every season, and it also works as a screen, in mixed borders and on banks.
