Cotoneaster dammeri 'Radicans' is an evergreen of the Rosaceae family from China, much valued for forming dense ground cover that fills empty spaces and brings deep green to the garden.

Characteristics
The leaves are small and oval, a fine bright green, and in autumn the plant becomes even more attractive as they take on orange and red tints. Flowering is abundant, in clusters of white to pinkish flowers that open in spring and carry a pleasant scent, followed by small red berries that decorate the plant through summer and attract birds. The prostrate stems root as they spread.

Growing and care
Sun or partial shade and any well drained soil; very hardy, drought tolerant once established and undemanding. Trim the edges to keep it within bounds.

Uses
Ground cover on banks and slopes, under shrubs and trees, over low walls, in car park planting and in containers where it can trail.
