Convolvulus cneorum, silverbush, is a splendid ornamental for adding a note of elegance to the garden.

Characteristics
An evergreen shrublet forming a neat mound, famous for its silky, silver grey leaves and its white to pale pink funnel shaped flowers, which open in succession from spring into summer.

Growing and care
It is loved for standing up well to full sun and drought, which makes it ideal for Mediterranean climates. Give it a hot position and very well drained, even poor or stony soil, and water sparingly: winter wet is its main enemy. Trim lightly after flowering to keep the mound compact.

Uses
Gravel and rock gardens, low borders and edging, dry walls and slopes, seaside gardens and containers, where the silver foliage contrasts with darker planting.
