Cedrus atl. 'Glauca Pendula'

Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca Pendula' is an Atlas cedar with a weeping habit and foliage of a distinctive silvery blue.

Characteristics
A medium sized, fairly slow growing tree whose main feature is the weeping branches, which create an elegant, ornamental cascade; the final shape depends on how the leader is trained and staked. The needles are like those of other Atlas cedars but silvery blue, arranged in spirals along the shoots. Like all Atlas cedars it bears separate male and female cones on the same tree, the males small and brown, the females larger and held on the upper branches.

Growing and care
Full sun and deep, well drained soil, with space to display the falling branches; very hardy and drought tolerant once established. Prune only to guide the leader and remove damaged wood.

Uses
A sculptural specimen for lawns, large rock gardens, entrances and contemporary designs, also trained over walls, pergolas and slopes.
