Ceanothus 'Concha' is an evergreen shrub of the Rhamnaceae family from California, with glossy foliage and blue flowers that open in spring.

Characteristics
Small, dark green, glossy leaves on arching stems, and a profusion of deep blue flower clusters in spring, among the most intense blues available in a shrub; the flowers are very attractive to bees. Its deep roots hold the soil and help prevent erosion on slopes.

Growing and care
Very tough and adaptable to different soils and climates, but it prefers well drained ground and a sunny position, and once established it wants little or no summer water, which is the key to long life. Prune only lightly immediately after flowering; avoid cutting into old wood.

Uses
Slopes and banks, Mediterranean and seaside gardens, gravel borders, informal screens and large containers.
