Buxus microphylla 'Pumila Nana' is a dwarf ornamental box valued for its dense, compact foliage and small size.

Characteristics
A small evergreen shrub reaching about 30-60 cm in height and width, compact and dense, with upright, well branched stems forming a rounded cushion. The leaves are small, oval and leathery, glossy dark green, in opposite pairs, attractive all year round. The greenish yellow spring flowers are inconspicuous.

Growing and care
Sun or partial shade and fresh, well drained soil; hardy, slow growing and long lived, which keeps clipping to a minimum. Trim lightly in late spring and mulch to keep the roots cool.

Uses
Very low edging and knot gardens, parterres, rock gardens, small topiary, pots and window boxes.
